Warrior Nun (2020)

“Warrior Nun,” created by Simon Barry, is a fantasy drama series based on the comic book series “Warrior Nun Areala” by Ben Dunn.

The story follows Ava Silva, a 19-year-old quadriplegic orphan who unexpectedly gains a second chance at life when she wakes up in a morgue with a divine artifact embedded in her back—the Halo, a powerful relic that grants her extraordinary abilities.

Ava discovers that she has been chosen to join an ancient order known as the Order of the Cruciform Sword, a secret group of warrior nuns sworn to protect the world from demonic forces. Initially reluctant and overwhelmed by her new responsibilities, Ava learns to harness her newfound powers while navigating the complexities of the order, including internal conflicts and hidden agendas.

As Ava trains and bonds with her fellow nuns, she uncovers dark secrets about the church and the true purpose of the Halo.

Her journey is fraught with challenges, including battling fierce demons and uncovering a conspiracy that threatens not only the order but the entire world. Along the way, Ava struggles with her own identity, faith, and the burden of her destiny.

“Warrior Nun” combines supernatural elements with themes of empowerment, faith, and self-discovery. Through Ava’s eyes, the series explores the balance between good and evil, the power of belief, and the resilience of the human spirit. As she evolves from a lost, disillusioned girl into a determined warrior, Ava’s story resonates with the timeless quest for purpose and the fight against darkness in its many forms.
