Star Wars Episode X(2025)
As of January 15, 2025, there is no official release of a film titled “Star Wars Episode X.” However, Lucasfilm has announced a new Star Wars project focusing on Rey Skywalker, portrayed by Daisy Ridley, set approximately 15 years after the events of “The Rise of Skywalker.” This film will explore Rey’s efforts to rebuild the Jedi Order. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is attached to direct, with Steven Knight penning the script.
The project has been referred to internally as “New Jedi Order,” though this is considered a working title. Earlier rumors suggested the title “Star Wars: Episode X – A New Beginning,” but these have been debunked by credible sources. As of now, Lucasfilm has not confirmed an official title for the film.
Filming is reportedly scheduled to commence in September 2025 at Pinewood Studios in London, with pre-production activities already underway. The production aims to blend real-world locations with advanced studio environments, utilizing cutting-edge CGI and practical effects to maintain the franchise’s high visual standards.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, the narrative is expected to follow Rey’s journey in establishing a new Jedi Order. There is no official confirmation regarding the return of other characters from the sequel trilogy, such as Finn or Poe Dameron.
Given the current production timeline, the film is tentatively slated for a 2026 release. However, this date is subject to change, and fans should await official announcements from Lucasfilm for confirmation.
In the meantime, the Star Wars franchise continues to expand with various projects, including the recent season finale of “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” which delved into the backstory of Jod Na Nawood, played by Jude Law.
