Spectral (2016)

“Spectral,” directed by Nic Mathieu, is a science fiction action-thriller set in a war-torn Eastern European city. The film follows Dr. Mark Clyne, a DARPA scientist, who is called to the front lines to investigate mysterious and lethal phenomena. Soldiers are being killed by ghostly apparitions that appear invisible to the naked eye but can be seen using special goggles.

Clyne joins a special ops team led by Captain Sessions, along with CIA operative Fran Madison. Together, they venture into the heart of the conflict, seeking to uncover the truth behind these spectral entities.

As they delve deeper, they discover that these apparitions are not supernatural but are instead created by a scientific experiment gone wrong. The entities are remnants of human consciousness, trapped in a form of energy due to a failed project aimed at creating super-soldiers.

The film explores themes of science and ethics, as the team battles both the spectral forces and the remnants of human conflict. As they race against time to find a way to neutralize the entities, they must also confront the moral implications of the technology that created them.

With intense action sequences and a gripping plot, “Spectral” combines military and sci-fi elements to deliver a thrilling narrative about the unforeseen consequences of advanced scientific experimentation.
