X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
The film begins with Logan (Wolverine) and his half-brother Victor Creed (Sabretooth) experiencing a difficult childhood in 19th-century Canada. After killing their stepfather in a fit of mutant-powered rage, the two brothers flee and participate in various wars over the decades, including the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War.
After being sentenced to death for war crimes but surviving thanks to their rapid healing abilities, Logan and Victor are recruited into a mutant special forces team led by William Stryker. This team includes other mutants like Wade Wilson (later Deadpool), Agent Zero, and John Wraith. However, Logan leaves the team due to their brutal methods.
Logan attempts to live a normal life with his girlfriend, Kayla Silverfox. However, this peaceful life is shattered when Kayla is killed by Victor, who has become a ruthless assassin.
To seek revenge, Logan agrees to undergo Stryker’s Weapon X program, where adamantium—a virtually indestructible metal—is fused into his skeleton, transforming him into “Wolverine.” After this process, Logan escapes from the lab.
Logan discovers that Kayla is actually alive and had cooperated with Stryker to protect her sister. Ultimately, Logan confronts Victor and Deadpool—now transformed into a formidable weapon unlike any other. With the help of some new allies, Logan defeats Stryker and Deadpool, but loses his memory due to an adamantium bullet shot by Stryker.
The film ends with Logan wandering aimlessly with no memory of his past, setting the stage for the events in the subsequent X-Men films.
“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” provides audiences with a deeper understanding of Wolverine’s origin and the complex relationship with his brother Victor Creed.
